Where else can I find Whittle Woody's?

While most of the work is done in our garage here at home, we do have a couple locations and events that we enjoy attending in the greater Portland metro area.

What sizes of signs can you make?

We can create anything from ~3″ up to 30″ with a single setup, much larger items can be created but this usually means joining lumber together as most “off the shelf lumber is 11.25″ wide. if desired item is over 30” in any diminution it will require a precise realignment during carving and may have an additional charge dependent on complexity

Small name sign (6″ tall x 12″ long):

Large driveway sign (12″ tall x 26″ long):

Can you carve in materials besides wood?

While our machine is capable of cutting Aluminum, Foam and other composite materials, Our primary media is wood at this time.

We have successfully etched metal!

Do you use hard or soft woods?

The majority of our products are created using either Pine or Cedar

Do all items include paint & finish?

Most of our “stocked” items  are painted and sealed custom items can usually be painted and sealed for an additional cost.

With custom orders we will discuss staining options as well to not only add some protection to the freshly carved wood but in most cases the stain provides the contrast to make primary elements “pop” and become more defined.

Can you ship signs?

Yes, we can ship nationwide! Cost paid by customer.

Can I pick colors for my sign?

Yes, most signs will have 3 colors:

  • Logo/Art
  • Border
  • Text
Will your signs last outside in the weather?

They will last several years! In fact, we still have one of the original “test” projects from the first machine 10+  years ago!

It is worth noting however that these numbers will increase or decrease based on the elements the sign is exposed to over the years.
